“Online First Publication” of Acta Pedologica Sinica

In order to speed up dissemination of academic papers to a wider scope, and to shorten the paper publishing period, the journal Acta Pedologica Sinica has, since the fourth issue of 2014, begun to implement the “Online First Publication” plan, which stipulates that all peer-reviewed, accepted and editor-processed articles should be published electronically in the websites of Acta Pedologica Sinica and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). Details of the plan are introduced as follows:

1. Once an article is accepted, the Editorial Board shall contact its author to verify copyright information, such as title, author(s), affiliation, etc., and once verified, the information shall be accepted as finalized information of the article for publication and no longer be subject to any amendment.

2. An article for online first publication shall have its publication year, Volume No., Issue No. and DOI (Digital Object Identifier). For details, please refer to the announcement of the Acta Pedologica Sinica of the initiation of DOI®. Once a DOI is assigned, it shall not be changed any more.

3. The article published online in full text and in PDF form is still a version that has not yet been proofread or finalized by the author(s), and will be replaced with the one that has been subjected to the complete proofreading procedure of the editorial board for formal publication with page numbers assigned.

4. The article published online is only a version for online first publication on the network of Acta Pedologica Sinica and CNKI, to satisfy the need of readers at home and abroad for academic exchanges and online retrieval and reference.

5. The Editorial Board of Acta Pedologica Sinica recommends that all the academic evaluation institutions should deem the papers in “Online First Publication” the same as those in the official publication of the journal Acta Pedologica Sinica, and the date a paper is published in online first publication as the official publication time of the paper.
