    Abstract:

The extraction of saluiMe salts in saline sails is usually done by distilled water in 1:2.5 or 1:5 soil-water ratio. Filtration of soil-solution is a time consuming process, especially in soils of clayly type. Present recommendation used 0.2% calcium nitrate solution as an extractant instead of distilled water. Ownng to the flocculation of soil clay by calcium ions, withovt interferernce on the solubility of solwlrle salts in soils, it gives a perfect clear supernate.nt solution upon standing. A definut volume of the supernrartent solution is then, pipetted out. Bicarbonate and carbonate ate titrated with standard nutric acid solution. Chloride is measured by standard sillver rtitraxe soluxion in the same aliquot. Results obeained by the recommending method give good agreements in comparison with usuall procedure.
