The specific adsorption of divalent Cu²⁺,Zn²⁺,Co²⁺,Ni²⁺ and Cd²⁺ on latosol,goethite,amorphous Al oride,and kaolinite was measured as a function of pH.The adsorption of heavy metals with increasing pH was in the order of Cu²⁺>Zn²⁺>Co²⁺>Ni²⁺>>Cd²⁺ on latosol,Cu²⁺>Zn²⁺>Cd²⁺>Ni²⁺>>Co²⁺ on goethite and data are consistent with the triple layer model.
