In this paper,efforts are made to illustrate the significance of statistics of the reserve and density of organic carbon in soil,to introduce the latest development of the research in this field both at home and abroad,and to explore an accurate method for calculating densities of carbon in soils with an example,and hence to provide a potential approach to a general meticulous statistics of the organic carbon reserve in the soils of China.
