    Abstract:

The present papa deals with the contribution of hydrous oxides to surface charges of soils, clays and synthetic amorphous aluminosilicates. The results of experiments showed that hydrous oxide-type surfaces could be divided into two sub-groups which had totally different surface churge characteristics. In the studied samples, iron and aluminium oxide were pH-dependent posirive charge surface, silica was pH-dependent negative charge surface.
