    Abstract:

    Soil family and soil series are two basic taxons of the Chinesesoil taxonomy, and will also be the focus of the study on the Chinese soil taxonomy for quite a long time in future. Based on the "Standard for Classification of Soil Family And Series" laid down and published in 2013 by the special national science and technology basic researchproject“Investigation of Soil Series of Chinaand Compilation of “Record of Chinese Soil Series” [2008FY110600]”, analysis was performed of problems in naming of soil families that have been set up in the research on taxons in Chinese soil taxonomy in this country since 1998, in the hope that the work may provide some reference for studies on soil families in China in future.
